Market Update

Blog by Tony Hepburn | March 6th, 2007

Signs pointing towards busy spring housing market.

Vancouver BC March 2, 2007: Current listing inventory remains virtually the same year to date as Jan-Feb 2006 ytd figures. The only notable increase in inventory is in the apartment category; up 11%. Unit sales overall remain steady in all categories.

We are still reporting many multiple-offer situations, though not at the same fast pace as we experienced last Spring & Summer. The average number of days on the market has increased from 49 days to 58 days. Hiring the right agent does make a difference.

The benchmark price of a detached home in Greater Vancouver is $666,983, up 11.4% from last year. The Westside benchmark is $1,204,314, up 14.3% from one year ago.
